Which Android phone provides the best gaming experience?

When it comes to Gaming, we traditionally think about a nice big monitor, mouse, keyboard and games such as Fifa, Grand Theft Auto and the Need for Speed series. But today, the smartphone can do it all – Multimedia, Browsing, E-Mails, GPS and Gaming.

When it comes to Gaming, the phone has to have a great screen resolution and needs to be configured with a good amount of RAM and a fast processor along with GPU. On the basis of these points, we have shortlisted a few Android phones that would provide the best gaming experience to the users.

HTC One X

HTC One X for Gaming

A 4.7” display with resolution of 720×1280 pixels, 1GB of RAM and a Quad-Core 1.5GHz makes it a strong configuration for games. This configuration along with the GeForce GPU and the Nvidia Tegra 3 chipset makes gaming, a smooth experience. However, you would not be able to play games continuously for a long time considering the poor battery life.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Play

Sony Xperia Play for Gaming Geeks!

Xperia Play has looks of a PSP, running Android. The slider phone has a 4.0” display, 1GHz processor along with Adreno 205 GPU but only 512MB RAM. Though the specs are not very good for gaming, we thought it requires a special mention here because the PSP styled design gives a good gaming experience. Though, the phone has been permanently discontinued, it is still available on a few e-commerce websites at a price of Rs. 22,000.

However, Samsung Galaxy S3 would be our top pick for the Android Phone providing the best gaming experience.

Samsung Galaxy S3 for Games

The phone boasts a Quad-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A9 processor, 1GB RAM, Exynos 4412 chipset and a screen size of 4.8 inches making it a perfect configuration for gaming. The 720 x 1280 pixels resolution gives immense clarity. The gaming experience on the Samsung Galaxy S3 is meant to be one of the best thanks to that Mali-400MP GPU running at the heart. In terms of Gaming experience, Galaxy S3 doesn’t give much scope for criticism.
